Shamshera Box Office Collection Day 1: Could Be Bollywood's Biggest Opener of 2022!

It's Shamshera box office day, and for all Ranbir Kapoor fans out there, it's arguably the longest night. When your favorite actor returns to the big screen after a four-year absence, the night before his or her next film's debut might be a true test not just for him but also for the fans. 

Apart from the fact that it was a 'Ranbir Kapoor picture,' Ranbir's previous film was something of an exception. Sanju did make a record-breaking ₹34 crores on day one, and he went on to make history for Ranbir. Shamshera goes off on a completely separate tangent.

Shamshera was announced by Yash Raj Films a month before Ranbir Kapoor's smash hit Sanju in 2018. So, like Ranbir, this film has taken a four-year journey to be transformed into images for the big screen. It's coming out during the 'Boycott Bollywood' campaign, which shouldn't matter too much if the film is decent.

Movies like Gangubai Kathiawadi, The Kashmir Files, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 have demonstrated that good material (or controversy) may still appeal even when it comes from Bollywood.
