Gujarat Police LRD Recruitment 2021: The state home department will start a recruitment drive for over 15,000 vacancies in Lok Rakshak Dal (LRD) in the Gujarat Police department. After 2018, this would be the first recruitment drive in LRD Gujarat Police. The online application process is expected to kickstart in November this year, said the state Home Minister.

According to the press release, the LRD Bharti 2021 shall likely take place on approximately 12,000 vacancies. This is announced after a controversial resolution of the General Administration Department-GAD has given new hope to thousands of aspirants who intend to join through LRD recruitment.

Home Minister Pradipsinh Jadeja said the government was determined to complete the Gujarat Police LRD recruitment process which was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The state home department and recruitment board are preparing for the recruitment of 15,000 Lok Rakshak Dal personnel (LRDs) and are likely to resume the process after Diwali, in November 2021.

"Due to the growing population and commercial migration in Gujarat, the department has also sanctioned 1901 posts for new police stations and outposts in the existing areas for the proficient management of law and order. Fourteen new police stations and four outstations have also been sanctioned at a cost of Rs 2.15 crore," said Home Minister Jadeja.

In addition to that, several Police posts have also been upgraded. Among these, Titoi outpost in the Aravalli district has been shifted to Police Inspector-PI. While Palanpur in Banaskantha, Amirgarh, Vijalpore in Navsari, Valsad village in Valsad, Pardi, Dungra have been upgraded from Sub Inspector PSI to PI level stations.

After the virtual inauguration of the new police station in Madhapar, the Home Minister said that it has made operational in Kutch keeping in view the development of transportation and tourism sectors. Apart from Kutch, five new police stations have been sanctioned in Surat city, three in rural areas, four in Vadodara city, three in Rajkot rural, and two in Bharuch district, the minister added.

Note- The aforesaid given vacancies are tentative and might change subject to the official notification.

Stages of LRD Recruitment 2021

The examination shall be held in two successive stages in the following manner, namely:- (i) Written Examination, (ii) Physical Efficiency Test, and Physical Standard Test. The candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the written test will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test to be held by the board.

Written Exam: The objective type written test shall consist of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) and OMR (Optical Mark Reader) system. Each question shall be of 1 mark and the candidate will have to attempt all questions in a duration of 1-hour duration. Every attempted question with an incorrect answer shall carry a negative mark of 0.25.

The test will cover subjects including General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Computer Knowledge, Psychology, History, Geography, Sociology, Mental Ability, Science and basic features of the Constitution of India, Indian Penal Code, 1860, Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and Evidence Act, 1872.

About Lok Rakshak Recruitment Board: The board will invite online applications on OJAS software from eligible candidates. Further, it will conduct the written exam and physical test as per rules made by the State Government. Thereafter, the Lokrakshak Recruitment Board will also declare results. All these arrangements have to be made by the Lokrakshak Recruitment Board. It shall carry out all the work of recruitment right from the beginning till the final declaration of result including preparation of cadre wise results, taking into consideration various rules and regulations of the government.
