Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a crash course for training and upskilling COVID workers through a video conference. The program called ‘Customized Crash Course program for Covid 19 frontline workers’ has been launched today, on June 18, 2021, at 11 am by PM Modi. The aim of the program is to create skilled non-medical healthcare workers for fulfilling the future need of manpower.

PM Modi launches six customized crash course programmes for COVID19 frontline workers under 'Skill India' mission. These modules include Home Care Support, Basic Care Support, Advanced Care Support, Emergency Care Support, Sample Collection Support, and Medical Equipment Support.  The trained workers will assist doctors in the treatment of COVID 19 patients.

"To support the Corona warriors, a target of training about 1 lakh youth has been set in the country. The course related to this will be completed in two-three months. This campaign will also give new energy to the frontline force of the health sector and the youth will also get new employment opportunities," PM Modi said.

“We are working towards preparing 1 lakh frontline workers in the country”, PM Modi said. He further added that this crash course is bringing a special opportunity for the youth to serve humanity and public welfare. You will learn every detail of this course as soon as possible, you have the skill, which can be useful to save everyone's life, for this, I wish you all the very best.

According to the Prime Minister, The training programme would be available at 111 training centers across 26 states in the country. The Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship was also present during the launch of the Crash course for COVID workers.

"Health workers posted in ASHA, ANM, Anganwadi, and village to village dispensaries are very strong pillars of our health sector. I admire them, I appreciate them. From June 21, the vaccination campaign is expanding in the country, these people will also give new strength to it," PM Modi added.

The training course is designed under the Central Component of 'Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 3.0'. The total sanctioned amount for this programme is Rs 276 crores. PM Modi thanked the entire fraternity of the healthcare sector for serving humankind while launching the crash course for COVID workers.
