The fantasy action movie Bimbisara was written and directed by N. T. R. Arts debutante Mallidi Vasishta. Prakash Raj, Samyuktha Menon, Catherine Tresa, and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram are among its cast members. In the movie, time travel allows King Bimbisara of the Trigartala Empire from the 5th century BCE to arrive in the present day.
A large portion of the movie, which had a $40 million budget, was shot in Hyderabad's Ramakrishna Studios. M. M. Keeravani penned the songs with Chirrantan Bhatt and provided the soundtrack for the movie. On August 5, 2022, Bimbisara was released, and it was well-received by critics and did well at the box office. Now, the makers are gearing up for Bimbisara's digital release too. ZEE5 has post-theatrical digital streaming rights to Bimbisara. The Kalyan Ram-starring movie, which has shown good potential and received impressive advertising material, has been acquired by ZEE5 for OTT streaming. Nothing much has been revealed about the film's TV rights so far.
As per the latest reports, ZEE5 will begin offering the movie in digital form on October 21, 2022.

Bimbisara was made available on August 5, 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the original release date was delayed to November 2021. Kalyan Ram's half-brother N. T. Rama Rao Jr. attended a pre-release ceremony in Hyderabad in July 2022 as a guest. The cost of selling the movie's global theatre rights was Rs. 15 crore. The film's North Indian distribution rights have been purchased by UFO Moviez. Dil Raju distributes the film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Kalyan Ram stated plans to make Bimbisara a four-part franchise in July 2022, with the second part scheduled to arrive in theatres in August 2023.
