Esha Deol was born on 2 November 1982 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She is an Indian film actress and model who predominantly appears in Hindi films. Deol made her debut in Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe and was praised for her performance which earned her numerous awards and nominations including the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
Esha is the elder daughter of actors of bollywood cinema Dharmendra and Hema Malini. she was enthusiastic about football in her school days and even she used to play on the position of a midfielder. Despite she became the captain of the school football team. However her interest was turned towards acting and like her parents, she also wanted to become an actor since her childhood and she inherited the acting talent from her parents. In 2002, she made her acting debut from the Hindi film Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe opposite Aftab Shivdasani. The film critics, as well as audiences, praised her performance in this film. She won the Bollywood Movie Awards and Filmfare Awards for Best Female Debut and Star Screen Awards for Most Promising Newcomer-Female.In spite that this movie was declared as the flop movie at the box office.
In 2004, she got her biggest breakthrough in Bollywood through the Yash Raj films Dhoom starring Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, John Abraham, and Rimmi Sen.This film became the highest gross earner film of the year 2004 with the record collection of 29 crores at the box office. In 2005 she won the Best Supporting Actress award for this film at the IIFA Awards. After enjoying the success of Dhoom she rose to fame and got the chance to sign the big star films with Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Akshay Kumar such as Main Aisa Hi Hoon, Dus, and No Entry.
