Andres Muschietti, also known as Andy Muschietti in film circles, is an Argentine film director and screenwriter. He rose to fame when his horror short Mama (2008) was made into a feature length movie of the same name in 2013. With Guillermo del Toro serving as executive producer, Muschietti's movie was a big hit. In 2015 he took over the reins from former helmer Cary Fukunaga, to direct Stephen King's horror epic, It. The movie is supposedly divided into two parts. Muschietti is also directing a TV series, Locke and Key, which is based on Joe Hill's (Stephen King's son) horror comic series of the same name.
