"Due to the emerging COVID-19 pandemic scenario, it can not be denied that the exam (GATE 2022) will not be postponed. While the majority of the state and center government examinations are being postponed, it is possible that IIT Kharagpur take a similar decision," an educator familiar with the developments told See Latest.

More than 8 lakh aspirants are expected to appear in the GATE 2022. Many of them, citing the increasing threat of Omicron a new variant of Coronavirus raise their concerns and demand the exam postponement on social media. While on the other hand, candidates who are going through rigorous preparation, differ from the social media opinions.
