Priya Krishnaswamy is an Indian film Director & Story, who has worked predominantly in Bollywood. Priya Krishnaswamy's previous film to hit the theatres was Gangoobai in the year 2013. Her childhood was not prominent. But when she joined film industry as an editor, it brought a new interesting turn to her unrevealed life. She know about her professional life as her contribution to Indian film as a Writer, Editor, and Director.
She started her journey as an editor. She edited the movie ‘Om Dar-B-Dar’ in 1988, directed by Manish Gupta, another famous Indian Film Director. In 1989, she worked in ‘Percy,’ in which she also acted (girl on the bus). Gradually, she became quite professional and was getting more and more experienced. She edited three more movies on her path to become a legend. Those are ‘Kaafila,’ ‘Bombay Boys’ and ‘Bhopal Express.’ The corresponding years are 1990, 1998 and 1999. But she did not stop there. She became a writer and a film director also.After editing the film ‘Bhopal Express,’ in the same year, she wrote for ‘Gateway to Heaven.’ The most important thing is that she was the director of the movie also. It was her debut film as a director.
She is a huge fan of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and a great admirer of Satyajit Ray and Ritwik Ghatak. And she enjoys the work of Dibakar Banerjee and Zoya Akhtar. After 1999, Priya directed and wrote the films ‘The Eye of the Fish: The Kalaris of Kerala’ (2002), ‘Against All Odds’ (2004), ‘What About the Children’ (2006), and the most famous one ‘Gangoobai’ (2013). Another most important thing is that she was the editor of the last three films also. She mostly directs documentaries. ‘Gangoobai’ was her most significant creation.
