Indian Air Force's Apache attack Helicopter made a precautionary landing after warning alert. IAF newly inducted Apache helicopter landed in fields in Hoshiarpur, Punjab as per ANI report. Apache is the attack military helicopter manufactured by Boeing a US based company and recently inducted by Indian Air Force.
On Friday IAF sources confirmed the precautionary landing of Apache helicopter in a field in Hoshiarpur. Stating more on Apache helicopter landing sources said that ‘An Indian Air Force Apache attack helicopter made a precautionary landing in a field in the Hoshiarpur district of Punjab today'.
It is reported that the Indian Air Force attack chopper Apache 64E made a precautionary landing after warning alert in its control panels, said Indian Air Force sources. Last year Indian Air Force inducted Apache 64E helicopters. IAF formally inducted the AH-64E Apache Attack Helicopter into its inventory at Air Force Station Pathankot last year in September. Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa PVSM AVSM YSM VM ADC, Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of the Air Staff was the Chief guest at the event.
Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa during the induction ceremony said Apache attack helicopters were being purchased to replace the Mi-35 fleet. Alongside the Apache 64E helicopters have the capability to shoot fire and forget anti tank guided missiles, air to air missiles, rockets and other ammunitions, it also has modern EW capabilities to provide versatility to helicopter in a network centric aerial warfare.
India has inducted eight Apache helecopters to boost Indian military capabilities in 2019.Aparche attack helicoptersare supposed to be made indigenously as in make in india initiative,the fuselage of the six Apaches from Indian Army made at the Tata Boeing Aerospace ltd.
India became the 16th country to procue the apache and eight of them was inducted at Pathankot AIR base, the latest variant that IAF uses known as AH-64E. This variant is flown by the US army and other customers of Aparche are U.K, Israel and Japan. The US made Apache-64E is one of the advanced and multi level combat helecoptors. The Boeing AH-64 Apache is an American twin-turboshaft attack helicopter with a tailwheel-type landing gear arrangement and a tandem cockpit for a crew of two.
Both Pilots are safe-
The attack choppers are based out of the Pathankot airbase and this chopper had taken off from there. The Air Force will check the helicopter and then take it back to its base. The pilots are safe said Indian Air Force (IAF)
