The news agency has confirmed that main accused in Kanpur Encounter Vikas Dubey who was arrested from Ujjain has been killed in an encounter. Gangster Vikas Dubey has been killed in police encounter in Kanpur. According to police, he tried to flee by snatching pistol of the injured policemen after car overturned. Police had tried to make him surrender, says IG Uttar Pradesh Police. Earlier the gangester was arrested from Ujjain when he was heading to Mahakal Temple in Ujjain.
According to Uttar Pradesh Police Kanpur SSP, two UP Police personnel informed the history sheeter Vikas Dubey on July 3. As per evidence, it has been found that police personnel Vinay Tiwari & KK Sharma had informed Vikas Dubey about the raid beforehand, he said. Earlier IG Kanpur Range Mohit Agarwal had also said that "So, he was on alert and planned to attack police which resulted in the death of 8 policemen. Former Station Officer of Chaubepur, Vinay Tiwari and Beat Incharge KK Sharma have been arrested. They (KK Sharma and Vinay Tiwari) were present during Kanpur Encounter but fled the site of incident during the operation".
Following the death of the eight policemen, Vinay Tiwari and three more personnel of Chaubeypur police station have been suspended as police probe whether Dubey was tipped off about the raid. On Tuesday night, the Kanpur SSP removed all 68 personnel, including sub-inspectors, head constables and constables, of Chaubeypur police station and sent them to Reserve Police Lines in Kanpur.
“There are allegations that some of the personnel were in contact with history sheeter Vikas Dubey. An inquiry is on. A new police team has been deployed at the Chaubeypur,” IG (Kanpur Range) Mohit Agarwal said.

The police was bringing Prabhat, a convict in the Kanpur encounter, from Faridabad to Kanpur. The car's tire was punctured on the way. Where he tried to run away from the government pistol snatch. Two STF constables were injured in incidence, said IG Law and Order, U.P.
Speaking over another encounter, IG said "the crime branch and police team in Etawah were following a suspicious car chase due to the robbery of a Swift car. During this, there was firing between police and miscreants. In which the injured convict was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead".

UP Police Special Task Force (STF) on Wednesday killed an aide of wanted gangster Vikas Dubey in Hamirpur. STF also arrested six others in separate encounters in Kanpur and Faridabad for their alleged role in last week's ambush, where eight UP policemen were killed.
Amar Dubey, who carried a reward of Rs 50,000, was killed in an encounter in Maudaha village of Hamirpur district," Uttar Pradesh Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar told PTI.
Uttar Pradesh government has decided to increase the reward for the arrest of culprit Vikas Dubey, from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
Uttar Pradesh ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar said the Kanpur police arrested three persons including Shyamu Bajpai, Jahan Yadav and Sanjeev Dubey, after an encounter. Shyamu was injured in the encounter, Mr. Kumar said in a press conference.
