Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that no public gatherings will be allowed in state till 30 June in the wake ongoing coronavirus pandemic and resulting lockdown and social distancing norms. Chief Minister held a meeting with chairpersons if 11 committees of the state to discuss about further proceedings amid lockdown.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are 1,621 coronavirus cases in Uttar Pradesh including 247 discharged and 25 deaths. The cases are increasing due to which the government had to take such a step. The state government director the officials that no public gatherings will be allowed in the state till June 30. Uttar Pradesh is at 7th Rank in terms of highest number of cases across all states in the country. Agra had the highest number of Covid-19 cases at 241 confirmed infections, followed by Lucknow (167), Gautam Buddha Nagar (98), Meerut (75), Saharanpur (72).
Chief Minister has directed officers that no public gatherings be allowed till 30th June. Further decision will be taken depending on the situation.', Office of CM Yogi Adityanath tweeted. Amid the ongoing crisis, the whole country is in major lockdown till 3 May with some relaxations given by states to non- containment zones.
