Due to the coronavirus outbreak across the country and Prime Minister Narender Modi announces the closure, in Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) a mother came to the police station complaining that he had sent his son to buy groceries, but he returned with his wife. The incident surprised Sahibabad district police on Wednesday when the mother arrived at the police station complaining that she had sent her son to buy groceries, but he returned with his wife.
'I sent my son to shop today, but when he returned, he returned with his wife. I'm not ready to accept this marriage, 'said the mother.
When police asked Guddu, the 26-year-old boyfriend about his marriage, he informed him that he married Savita (wife) two months ago in Haridwar, however, he was unable to obtain the marriage certificate due to a lack of witnesses.
I married Savita two months ago in an Arya Samaj Mandir in Haridwar. However, we were unable to obtain the marriage certificate at that time due to a lack of witnesses. I decided to visit Haridwar again to obtain my marriage certificate, but was unable to do so as the blockade was imposed.'
Guddu further stated that 'After returning from Haridwar, Savita stayed in rented accommodation in Delhi. However, today I decided to take her to my mother's house since she was told to leave the rented accommodation due to the closure.'
Sahibabad police suggested the couple resolve the family dispute and asked the owner of the Savita home in Delhi to let her stay there during the period of confinement.
