Khesari Lal Yadav is a Bhojpuri singer, actor and model. His breakthrough came from his Bhojpuri album Maal Bhetai Mela Me. In 2012, because of the movie Saajan Chale Sasural, he became a rising Bhojpuri film star. He sings in his mother tongue, the language Bhojpuri. He was awarded Best popular actor in 11th Bhojpuri film awards 2016, the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award on 4 January 2017 and UP Ratn award in 2017.
