Despite regular success in first-class cricket eluding him, Aaron Finch has been a star in limited-overs cricket for Australia, Victoria and Melbourne Renegades. The opener's greatest international performance to date came in 2013 when he smashed 14 sixes on his way to a record-breaking 156 from just 63 balls against England.
He was also the unlikely hero playing for the MCC against the Rest of the World in 2014, hitting a match-winning 181 to steal the show from the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara. In December 2015, Finch became the first player to score 1000 runs in the Big Bash League, when he scored 65 runs off 45 balls in a man of the match performance for the Melbourne Renegades in the tournament’s fifth edition. He would also later go on to lead the Renegades to their maiden BBL win in 2018/19. Finch finally made his long-awaited Test debut for Australia against Pakistan in October 2018, making 62 and 49 in his first and second innings respectively.
