Legendary playback singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam passed away at 74 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu India. He is breathed his last at 1:04 PM (Friday). This is a great loss to the Music World. S.P. Balasubrahmanyam was hospitalized in August at MGM Healthcare after testing positive for COVID-19 and although he reportedly did well initially, on September 7 he tested negative for COVID19 but continued on the ventilator.

Veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who had been in treatment at a private hospital in Chennai after testing positive for COVID-19 during the first week of August, passed away today after a long battle with the coronavirus. 

S.P.Balasubrahmanyam who had recorded over 40,000 songs in Indian Languages and singer has won the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer Six times. He started his singing career in 1966 with the Telugu film Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna. 

SPB son SP Charan addressed the media and he said "My dad breathed his last at 1:04 pm. Thank you everyone for your prayers. My dad will live long until his fans remember him."

The singer was survived by wife Savitri and his two children Paalavi and SP charan
