Karthikeya 2, which stars Nikhil Siddhartha, has been doing well at the box office despite demands to boycott Bollywood films. Dobaaraa, Taapsee Pannu's most recent film, is the next "victim" of the #boycottbollywood movement. Due to Karan Johar's involvement in the movie, some Twitter users also called for a boycott of Vijay Deverakonda's Liger.
The second part of the highly acclaimed film Karthikeya even outperformed Friday releases from Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan in terms of box office receipts. The drama film starring Nikhil Siddhartha saw a significant increase on Saturday from its meager ₹7 lakh opening day haul in Hindi.
