CM Gehlot stamps CBI investigation in SHO Vishnu Dutt suicide case

SHO Vishnu Dutt Bishnoi's suicide case took a new turn as Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot stamped the file of CBI investigation in the case. Family of Bishnoi approached CM Gehlot to request for CBI inquiry and after analyzing the case he finally stamped the recommendation letter of the investigation. 

Vishnu Dutt was serving as Station House Officer (SHO) at Rajgarh in the Churu district of Rajasthan. He was found hanging in his government residence on Saturday 23rd May. 

According to preliminary reports no one has been identified and implicated in the suicide note. However, his WhatsApp chat went viral and allegedly people started blaming that he was in depression due to dirty politics. Multiple screenshots of a chat between Bishnoi and a lawyer were widely circulated on WhatsApp in which he wishes for Voluntary retirement from the police service due to 'dirty politics'.

Earlier Rajasthan DGP ordered a probe into this suicide case and directed IG Jose Mohan to start an investigation into the incident. Bishnoi was a resident of Raisinghnagar in the Hanumangarh district. He joined Rajasthan Police in 1997 as a sub-inspector. He was active on social media and had a huge fan following.  His fans have been demanding the CBI probe and accusing dirty politics behind his suicide. 

Deputy leader of opposition Rajendra Rathore expressed his grief on Bishnoi's suicide. He also accused system and demanded the CBI probe on behalf of the opposition. In his media interaction, Rathore said "It is very unfortunate that an honest and brave police officer like Vishnudutt committed suicide. It's a slap on the face of the police department. We demand a judicial probe into the matter. "
