Sonakshi Sinha was born on 2nd July 1987 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She is an Indian Film Actress, Voice Artist, Singer, Philanthropist, Fashion Designer, Costume Designer & She is daughter of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha. She is best known for her work in Bollywood movies as well as Tamil cinema.
Sonakshi Sinha complete her education at Arya Vidya Mandir and studied designing at Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University in Fashion Designing. She started her career as a costume designer, designing the costumes for the movie Mera Dil Leke Dekho in 2005.
her acting debut in the 2010 film named Dabangg starring with actor Salman Khan. She was really passionate about this opportunity and went on to lose 30kg to play her part in the film. For her role, she was awarded the Filmfare award for best debutant female. After her first film, there was no looking back for her and she went on to play many characters opposite many well-known actors and superstars in the film industry. She is an animal lover, acts for a PETA campaign and advocates for the adoption and sterilization of dogs and cats.
She has also given her voice for the Hindi version of RIO2 movie and featured in the music video the Yo Yo Honey Singh. She also worked opposite Rajnikanth, the megastar of Indian Cinema in LINGA MOVIE (Kollywood). Recently she had given her fans a pleasant surprise by releasing her debut song 'Aaj mood ishqholic hai' in collaboration of meet bros displaying her multi-talented personality. She featured in movies like Akira, Noor in which she was the sole lead performer and has proved to the world that she can carry a movie on her own shoulders and does not require the fan power as other movie stars possess to make her film hit. Her recent releases include Total Dhamaal, Khandaani Shafakhana,, Kalank, and Mission Mangal. She will be next seen in Dabangg 3 and Bhuj: The Pride of India.
