Summary
Michelle Pfeiffe is an American actress and producer. She began her acting career in 1978, and had her first leading role in the musical film Grease 2 (1982). She went on to receive mainstream attention for her breakthrough performance as gangster moll Elvira Hancock in Brian De Palma?s crime thriller Scarface (1983). Her subsequent roles in Dangerous Liaisons (1988), The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989) and Love Field (1992), garnered her three Academy Award nominations. Pfeiffer found major critical and popular acclaim for her performance of Catwoman in Tim Burton's superhero film Batman Returns (1992). She later starred in The Age of Innocence (1993), Wolf (1994), What Lies Beneath (2000) and White Oleander (2002). After a five-year hiatus from film acting, she appeared in Hairspray (2007), Ch?ri (2009) and Dark Shadows (2012). She received her first Emmy Award nomination for portraying Ruth Madoff in the HBO television film The Wizard of Lies (2017), and garnered further critical acclaim for her roles in Mother! (2017) and Murder on the Orient Express (2017).
