Joi Barua's passion for music has its beginnings in a violin which was gifted to him at the age of four by his father. At the age of 7, his prodigious talents were recognised by his school principal Sister Mabilia, whom she considers his first and foremost mentor. Subsequently, Joi started his professional career as a musician by singing jingles for numerous ad campaigns and working as a background singer for several Bollywood films.
