After making his debut in Thithi, Channegowda is now popular among the kannadigas by his onscreen name Gaddappa. The movie won several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Kannada. He then appeared in a half a dozen films along with Century Gowda and Abhishekh including Tharle Village and Yen Nin Problemu.
