Vikram Box Office (July 6): Vikram, Kamal Haasan's newest film, continues to break box office records. Despite experiencing its first drop in theatres this week, the action-thriller reached a significant milestone. After recently becoming the highest-grossing film of all time in Tamil Nadu, the film crossed the 300-crore milestone in India. The film is currently hoping to gross ₹450 crores worldwide.

Vikram debuted on June 3 and has been a box office success ever since. It earned ₹164.75 crores in its first week in theatres, followed by ₹72.50 crores in week two, ₹38.50 crores in week three, and ₹21.50 crores in week four. The film grossed roughly ₹5.25 crores in its fifth weekend and is projected to earn even more.

The film has done well worldwide as well, grossing over ₹120 crores from the international market alone. However, its Hindi-dubbed version has failed to match the success of previous south hits such as RRR and KGF: Chapter 2.

The film's box office earnings are projected to suffer this week, as it will be released digitally on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar on July 8. It will be released in four languages: Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Vikram's cast also includes Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil. It is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and connects to his previous picture Kaithi, establishing a cinematic universe that will soon see sequels to both films. In addition, Vikram is a spiritual successor to Kamal Haasan's 1986 film of the same name.

It centers around the mission of a Black Ops cop team to unmask a group of masked murderers. The film was produced by Kamal Haasan and Mahendran under the label Raaj Kamal Films International, and it marked Kamal Haasan's return after a four-year absence.
