UPSC CDS (II) Notification 2020 Out: Apply for CDS Course 344 seats till 25 August

UPSC CDS (II): Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) releases Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) 2020 notification & invites applications from 5 to 25 August 2020. UPSC publishes CDS (II) notification 2020 on 344 seats in IMA, INA, AFA & OTA, at website upsc.gov.in. Candidates desirous for CDS examination (Officer in Indian Army/ Indian Air Force) are required to apply online by using the website upsconline.nic.in. The last date for submission of UPSC CDS (II) Application form is 25 August 2020.

A Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2020 will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 8th November, 2020 for admission to the courses IMA Dehradun (100 posts), INA Ezhimala (26 posts), Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (32 posts), Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai (Madras) for men (169 posts) and Officers Training Academy, Chennai (Madras) for SSC Women (17 posts).

The Union Public Service Commission shall prepare a list of candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as fixed by the Commission in their discretion. Candidates who are declared successful in the written exam will be detailed for intelligence and personality test at the Service Selection Board (SSB) based on their preference by the respective service HQ.

Eligibility for UPSC CDS: 

(i) For I.M.A and Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai- Degree of a recognised University or equivalent 

(ii) For Indian Naval Academy- Degree in Engineering from a recognised University/Institution 

(iii) For Air Force Academy- Degree of a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Graduates with first choice as Army/Navy/Air Force are to submit proof of Graduation/ provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB Interview at the SSB. Candidates who are studying in the final year/semester Degree course and have yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply.

Application Fee:

Candidates are required to pay fee of Rs 200/-, whereas Female/SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of fee. 

UPSC CDS Admit Card:

The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination. CDS 2020 Examination e-Admit Card will be made available on the UPSC website (http://upsc.gov.in) for downloading.

UPSC CDS Application Form Last Date:

Candidates are required to apply Online using the link upsconline.nic.in. Detailed instructions for filling up UPSC CDS Online Applications are available on the website. The applicants are advised to submit only single application. The Online Applications can be filled up to 25th August, 2020 till 6:00 pm. The online Applications can be withdrawn from 01.09.2020 to 07.09.2020 till 6.00 PM.
