UPSC CDS (1) 2021 Answer Key: 7 January GS, Maths Question Paper Analysis and Review

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has conducted the CDS 1, Examination on 7th February (Sunday). The CDS I examination is reportedly held successfully following the Covid19 and other guidelines at designated centers. It is intimated to the candidates that after the examination is over, UPSC will display the Answer key of CDS (1) 2021 Examination at the official website upsc.gov.in. Candidates who appear for the 7th February Combined Defence Services (I), 2021 Examination have a look at the paper review, analysis, and difficulty level of the paper.

Based on the reports, UPSC conducts the Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2021 with an aim to shortlist the candidates for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy. In view of the current situation inflicted due to the Covid19 pandemic, the examination is conducted following the social distancing and other safety guidelines.

For the 7 February CDS 1 Exam, students were strictly instructed to follow the guidelines issued through e-Call letters and through the website of the Commission. The candidates were seen wearing a face mask/cover inside the examination center. They were instructed to carry their personal hand sanitizer and transparent water bottle with them.

According to the reports, the use of any mobile phone (even in switched off mode), pager or any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage media like pen drive, smartwatches, etc. or camera or blue tooth devices or any other equipment or related accessories either in working or switched off mode capable of being used as a communication device during the examination was strictly prohibited.

As far as the paper analysis is concerned, the overall level of the UPSC CDS 1, 2021 examination was easy to moderate level.  The examination consisted of a total of 300 Maximum marks (200 marks for Officers’ Training Academy).

As many as 120 questions in the English section with a time duration of 2 hours, 120 questions in General Knowledge, and 105 questions from Elementary Mathematics were asked. The papers in all the subjects consisted of objective type questions and set bilingually in Hindi as well as English.

Mathematics: In this section, questions would be asked from Arithmetic, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Mensuration, and Statistics.

Note- Analysis of the Question paper will begin after the examination is over.

The standard of the CDS 1 papers in Elementary Mathematics will be of Matriculation level. The standard of papers in other subjects will approximately be such as may be expected of a graduate of an Indian University.
