UP 69k Teachers Bharti: Students launch campaign demanding 5 Sept as Joining Day

Students on Monday launched online campaign with hash tag “Sept 5 Joining Day for 69K” to raise their demand to provide joining to candidates selected in the Uttar Pradesh 69,000 Assistant Teachers recruitment 2019.  A huge number of students joined the online twitter campaign and shared their views for the early joining of Assistant Teachers as recruitment process is halted after Sikshamitra reached to Supreme Court and Counselling / District allotment process disturbed. 

On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, students ask Uttar Pradesh state government to provide joining to merit listed candidates in 69,000 Assistant Teachers recruitment 2019, which has already taken more than one and half year. Students launched #Sept5JoiningDay4_69k urging concerned board and government to resume recruitment process and facilitate joining to selected candidates till September 5. Currently the selection process of 69k Teachers bharti has been put on hold after National Commission for Backward classes summoned Board secretary and Sikshamitra reached Supreme Court. Earlier a section of students got relief after Supreme Court delivered the verdict in favour of government over controversial cut off marks criteria (60-65%). Further on the basis of designated cut off, Basic Education Board announced the final result and started the Online counseling registration in June 2020.

Allahabad high court and Supreme Court verdict further put halt in the recruitment process. After counselling registration the allotment & document verification process was put on hold. However, High Court Lucknow division bench allowed recruitment on rest of the vacancies, leaving 37,339 posts for Siksha Mitras vacant.

Later National Commission for Backward Classes summoned the Chairman, Deputy Chairman of Basic Education board over the alleged discrimination in reservation norms. For last one month there has been no changes in stance from either side. The case is in high court and hearings have been adjourned to new dates.
