The Lion King box office collection Day 3 - Jon Favreau directorial Disney remake "The Lion King" has became the second Hollywood film to cross Rs 50 crore in the opening weekend. The live-action remake of the 1994 classic 'The Lion King' released across 2,140 screens in India and in four languages - English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, scored an impressive amount of over Rs 54 crore in its opening weekend. The new photo-real animated movie The Lion King, featuring the voices of Beyonce, Donald Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Seth Rogen is taking over the Indian Box Office collections by storm.



Directed by Jon Favreau, The Lion King has received mixed reviews at the box office. The film's box office collection was opens in double digits on his opening day and made an impressive Rs 11.06 crore with a gross of Rs 13.17 in all versions in the domestic market. Also, the film collected an impressive box office collections of Rs 19.15 crore on Saturday and Rs 24.54 crore on Sunday respectively, taking the total box office collection to Rs 54.75 crore. Among Hollywood releases in India, The Lion King is only behind two Marvel blockbusters - Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War.


The first-weekend collection of the film is the third-highest ever after 'Avengers: Endgame' and 'Avengers: Infinity War'. The film has managed to collect a total of Rs 54 crore in its first weekend at the box office.


The film released in four different languages - English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The Hindi version of the film is dubbed by Shah Rukh Khan has given his voice to Mufasa, while his son Aryan khan makes an entry into the film world by voicing the protagonist character Simba. Sunidhi Chauhan and Armaan Malik have sung for Hindi version.

Hollywood stars like Donald Glover, Beyonce Knowles, Seth Rogen, Alfre Woodard, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner, John Kani, and John Oliver have lent their voice to the original Hollywood version of the film. 'The Lion King' hit the screens on July 19.
