South Korean Officials call for 'Caution' amid reports of Kim Jong Un's illness

South Korean leaders are asking for 'Caution' amid the suspicious reports claiming that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un may be ill. The rumours about North Korea's leader's bad health started spreading after he was not spotted at a key state holiday on 15 April and since then, he has remained underground. This adds to those suspicions making people think that Kim Jong Un may have been suffering from the contagious virus. A hours ago people on Social media made viral the fake news related to Kim Jong Un's death on Sunday. In the same row a South Korean daily on Monday claimed that North Korean leader is safe and sound.

South Korean Officials call for Caution

On Monday South Korea media reported that the leader may have gone through a surgery or was in isolation to protect himself from the dreaded disease. North Korean media showed no photos of Kim Jong Un. However, the reports claimed that he had sent a message of gratitude to workers building a tourist resort in Wonsan, an area where some South Korean media reports have said Kim may be staying.

'There has not been any report showing he’s making policy decisions as usual since April 11, which leads us to assume that he is either sick or being isolated because of coronavirus concerns,'  chairman of the foreign and unification committee in South Korea's National Assembly, Yoon, said.

North Korea has not reported any new cases of coronavirus but some international experts denied to accept the claim.  Satellite images spotted a train at Wonsan adding more to the apprehensions. It possibly be the leader's personal train but no confirmation is about whether he is in Wonsan or not. Earlier, a Chinese team including medical professionals  had visited North Korea.

'Our government position is firm .Kim Jong Un is alive and well. He has been staying in the Wonsan area since April 13. No suspicious movements have so far been detected.' Moon Chung-in, the top foreign policy adviser to South Korean President Moon Jae-in, said in comments to news outlets in the United States.
