Sandeeep Aur Pinky Faraar Box Office Collection Day 1: Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor starrer falls flat

Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra's black comedy Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar was released on 19th March, Friday. It was expected that Sandeep Aur Aur Pinky Faraar's box office performance on day 1 might reach the Rs. 50 lakh mark, however, it failed to reach even half of the expected target.

These are extremely poor numbers for the film, though it isn’t entirely surprising since there was hardly any sort of hype that it enjoyed. There was no pre-release marketing or promotion for this much-delayed film and was just given a token release of sorts.

Even from the show count perspective, there were hardly four or five shows in multiplexes for this Dibakar Banerjee directed film that is backed by Yash Raj Films. In comparison, Mumbai Saga saw a much wider release and that film too hasn’t registered any great numbers.

Performances of Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor didn't help either because the star power behind these two was not able to pull the wider audience in the theatres. According to reports,  Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar box office collection day 1 reached just Rs. 25 lakhs. These numbers are expected to decline further in the upcoming days.

Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar's box office performance took a massive hit due to the release of Mumbai Saga, which managed to earn Rs. 2.80 crores. Nonetheless, the fact remains that the Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra’s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar is out now, though any kind of turnaround on Saturday and Sunday is not likely. 

'Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar' follows the story of a man and woman who represent two completely different Indians. Pinkesh "Pinky" Dahiya is a Haryanavi Police Officer while Sandeep Kaur is someone from the Corporate world. However, they are united by their mistrust, suspicion, and hatred for each other.
