South superstar Ram Charan has taken to his social media accounts to announce that he has donated Rs 70 Lakhs to Coronavirus relief centers in the South. Ram Charan, who had reportedly signed off from Twitter for quite some time, rejoined the social platform today. The actor has 35th birthday on March 27, took to his social media handles on March 26, to announce the big news. Inspired by his Guru- Pawan Kalyan's tweet, Ram Charan has donated Rs 70 Lakhs to the Coronavirus relief centers.

In the tweet, he also mentions that he is inspired by his 'Guru' - Pawan Kalyan who has donated Rs 1 Crore to the PM Relief Fund and Rs 50 Lakhs to each Andhra Pradesh and Telangana CM Relief Funds to fight the Coronavirus pandemic. Ram Charan's tweet is flooding with netizens appreciating his gesture. 

Pawan Kalyan Donates 2 Crores

Superstar Ram Charan wrote 'Hope this tweet finds you in good health. At this hour of crisis, inspired by Pawan Kalyan Garu, I want to do my bit by contributing to aid the laudable efforts of our governments... I hope you all are staying safe at home!'

Tollywood actor Nithiin was among the first actors from the Telugu film fraternity to make a donation of Rs 10 lakh each to the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana CM Relief funds respectively. Directors like Anil Ravipudi and VV Vinayak too came into action by contributing Rs 5 lakh each.

Meanwhile, in the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu, actors like Rajinikanth, Prakash Raj, Suriya along with brother Karthi, Vijay Sethupathi, and many others have contributed to the Film Employees' Federation of South India (FEFSI). The outbreak of Covid-19 has taken a huge toll on the entertainment industry as theaters have been shut and movie releases are being pushed indefinitely.
