Ministry of Defence (MoD) has released employment notice for NCC Cadets for temporary basis in Coronavirus relief efforts. MoD on Thursday released jobs notification to hire Cadets to augment relief efforts and functioning of various agencies. National Cadet Coprs (NCC) has issued guidelines for temporary employment of its cadets to boost up staff availability im fight against Covid19 in India.
Cadets will help agencies involved in relief efforts and functioning in battling Coronavirus pandemic said NCC in report. Director General Lt General Rajeev Chopra in accord of Ministry of Defence intimated on 2nd April about Cadets temporary employment.

National Cadet Corps is the youth wing of Armed Forces with its Headquarters at New Delhi, India. NCC is formed of school and college students join as cadets on voluntary basis. Now as the need arising in country to fight coronavirus pandemic NCC has initiated temporary employment of its cadets.
National Cadet Corps (NCC) has offered a helping hand to civilian authorities in the country’s fight against COVID-19 by extending the services of cadets under ‘Exercise NCC Yogdan’. It has issued guidelines for temporary employment of its cadets to augment relief efforts and functioning of various agencies involved in battling the pandemic.
The tasks envisaged for NCC cadets include, manning of helpline/call centres; distribution of relief materials/medicines/ food/essential commodities; community assistance; data management and queue & traffic management. According to the guidelines, cadets should not be employed in handling of law and order situation or for active military duties or at hot spots.
Only Senior Division volunteer cadets above 18 years of age will be employed. They should be employed in small cohesive groups of eight to 20 under the supervision of Permanent Instructor Staff or/and an Associate NCC Officer.
Foremployment of volunteer cadets, State governments /district administration has to send the requisition through State NCC Directorates. Details will be coordinated at Directorate/Group Headquarters/Unit level with state government/local civil authority. Before the cadets are deployed for the duty, ground conditions and laid down requirements are to be ensured

Allowances to be paid to hired NCC cadets as per NCC allowances guidelines. Cadets to join voluntarily as no selection procedure specified so far. Cadets to take over duties along with relief agencies and functioning of agencies in relief efforts in designated states/ districts.
