Navaratri 2021 Day 6: Today is the sixth day of Shardiya Navratri (Navratri 2021) on Monday, October 11. As per Hindu scriptures, today there is a law to worship Maa Katyayani. According to religious beliefs, Maa Katyayani shows mercy to her devotees and fulfills their wishes.

As per Hinduism, sage Katyayan was the biggest devotee of the Mother Goddess. One day Goddess Durga pleased with his penance granted him a boon to be born as his daughter hence she came to be known as Katyayani or the "daughter of Katyayan"

Mahishasura Was Killed By Mother Katyayani. 

It is accepted that by revering Maa Katyayani, an individual can handle what he detects. It was Mother Katyayani who killed Mahishasura. That is the reason Mother Katyayani is likewise called Mahishasura Mardani. Aside from this, Mata Rani is known as the goddess who obliterates evil spirits and beasts. 

Lord Rama and Shri Krishna Were Devotees Of Mother Katyayani Too

As per folklore, Maa Katyayani was likewise worshipped by Lord Rama and Sri Krishna. It is said that the Gopis revered this type of Goddess Durga to get Lord Krishna as their better half. Maa Durga took this manifestation to keep up with Dharma in the universe.
