Mera Fauji Calling Review: Sharman Joshi starrer is heart-warming treat but misses the mark

Mera Fauji Calling is a 2021 Hindi-language action drama film written and directed by Aaryaan Saxena and produced by Vikram Singh and Ovez Shaikh under the banners of Running Horses Films and Ovez Productions.

The film is funded by Jimmy Satish Asija which casts  Sharman Joshi, Ranjha Vikram Singh, Bidita Bag, Mahi Soni, Mugdha Godse, Zarina Wahab, and Shishir Sharma. Given Below is Mera Fauji Calling review.

It is said that today we are celebrating the freedom that we have in our homes, in order to preserve that freedom, a soldier stands on the frontiers of the country, taking his life in his palm. But while these jawans are soldiers, they are also a father, a son, a brother, a husband.

The story runs through the vision of a military family is 'Mera Fauji Calling' which is released in the cinema halls this Thursday i.e. March 11.

The story is about a military family who is posted on the border and his wife, daughter Aradhya, and mother live in the village. This soldier comes to his house once a year for a full one month and stays with the family and his little daughter waits for this one month throughout the year. 

Mera Fauji Calling Review: We often hear stories of martyr's families which are heartbreaking and gut-wrenching. Be it, parents, a spouse, or kids, every one of them waits and hopes for their loved one who is in the Indian Army to come back safely. 

Mera Fauji Calling is that one tale about the hope of a braveheart serving the nation to be home safely every year. The role of Fauji is played by Vikram Singh who also produced the film under his home banner Running Horses Films.

Vikram Joshi serves at the Indian Army and is one of the top-ranking troops. His wife's role is played by Bidita Bag who lives with their daughter Mahi Soni and her mother-in-law Zarina Wahab. Every time the phone rings from a private number, Bidita's character shivers as she is not ready to hear bad news about her husband.

But they are one happy family who enjoys their day-to-day chores be it helping at home, picking up the daughter from school, and so on.

The daughter played by Mahi is one pampered kid who gets traumatized after a bad dream. Due to which she suffers from Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which leaves a scar on her. However, this heartbreaking dream does come true but the family has no hearts to convey it to her.

It takes place during the aftermath of the 2019 Pulwama attacks. When they have almost given up hope, comes a guardian angel in the form of Sharman Joshi.

Acting Performances: While talking about Mera Fauji Calling's movie review we just can't ignore the acting brilliance that is displayed by Sharman Joshi in this movie. He has perfectly played the role of a soldier who tries to rescue this damaged family while keeping his composure and struggling with his own demons. As for other actors, they might not be as versatile as Sharman Joshi, but they have still done justice to the role.

Conclusion: In the conclusion of the Mera Fauji Calling Review, we would like to point out that this is an emotional story, shown from the perspective of a child. But the film also has some shortcomings. 

Many scenes are a little loose in connecting. Such a quick friendship between Bidita and Sherman feels a little unreal. But the film is successful in keeping it tied. Even if it is a military story, but no dialogue is heavy and passionate, overall this movie deserves 3/5.
