Karnataka Health Dept permits recruitment of Doctors with MBSS degree

Karnataka Health Department on Thursday permitted District Health Departments to appoint Doctors with MBBS degree. State department has also decided to increase salaries of contractual doctors from 45,000 to 60,000.

Working on the medical health requirements, Karnataka State Health Department on June 2nd, issued a letter to District Health Departments over allowing the recruitment of MBBS degree holders on temporary Doctor's posts. According to State Health Department, District Health Departments are allowed to recruit Doctors on a contractual basis with permission of concerned District Health Officers & Commissioners.  

The decision is taken in view of current situation over Covid19 in the Karnataka state. According to Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) data in Karnataka state 16,514 Coronavirus cases have been reported by 1st July 2020. Out of total confirmed cases 8,198 cases are still active and nearly same numbers have been recovered. In state 253 people have lost their lives due to infection.

State Health Dept also decided to increase the salary of contractual doctors from Rs 45000 to Rs 60000 per month. The detailed guidelines are also expected to be published at official website of Karnataka State Health Department.
