Jharkhand CM permits BRO to recruit 11,800 Workers for Critical Projects at China Border

J'khand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday gives permission to Border Road Organization (BRO) to recruit over 11,800 workers from state for critical projects, including in areas near China border in Ladakh. After getting written assurance about Jharkhand Workers' welfare, Jharkhand can allow recruitment of 11,800 workers from state for the Critical projects including infrastructure and redevelopment at China Border, CM writes. "We are committed to the welfare of our state workers and our tribal brothers have long served the nation and built its frontiers. We are ready to send our workers in the interest of national security but will not allow any compromise of their honour, welfare rights, benefits and dignity,” CM Soren said on Monday.

Jharkhand CM Permit BRO to Recruit 11800 Workers

The Chief Minister Hemant Soren allowed its workers to serve for the nation and permitted BRO to recruit 11,800+ workers from Jharkhand state for critical projects. In his statement, Jharkhand CM said “National security is our priority and at the same time we have prioritised that the honour, dignity and rights of our workers are guaranteed while serving the nation.”

According to Press News Agency PTI, the statement from Jharkhand Chief Minister came when Defence ministry’s requested the home ministry to facilitate Railway services (11 special trains) to transport workers from Jharkhand to Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Uttarakhand etc.

MOU between Jharkhand & Centre

The MoU, prepared by the CMO and the state’s labour department, will ensure an institutional framework safeguarding the benefits and welfare of workers from the state going to work at high-altitude projects of the BRO, the CMO sources said.

Earlier Border Road Organization (BRO) requested 11, 815 workers for recruitment are needed for Operation Vijayak in Ladakh (about 8,000 workers required), Project Shivalik in Uttarakhand, Project Deepak in Himachal Pradesh, Project Beacon in Jammu and Kashmir, they said. The road projects in the border areas assume significance as they come amid a confrontation between Indian and Chinese militaries in eastern Ladakh. Border Road Organization is laying a key road in the Finger area around Pangong TSO Lake in Union Territory Ladakh, the same location where Indian Soldiers are facing standoff with Chinese PLA.

Recruitment of Workers for Critical Projects

The BRO has called early recruitment of 11,800+ workers for critical projects in states/ UTs at China Border.

BRO is laying a key road in the Finger area around the Pangong Tso Lake besides construction of another road connecting the Darbuk-Shayok-Daulat Beg Oldie road in Galwan Valley.
