On Saturday it is reported that around 38 Indian Navy Sailors at INS Angre base Mumbai, found Coronavirus positive and sent to quarantine. Around 12 of them have been discharged & 26 are going Covid19 treatment, said Vice Chief of Indian Navy. The total cases are 38 in numbers found at INS Angre shore base in Mumbai as sources told. After the US Navy and French Navy, this would be the third incidence in Sea-based Defence forces where a deadly virus has entered,  confirmed Indian Navy.

On Saturday it gets confirmed that total 38 personbel including various sailors of the Indian Navy reportedly tested positive for the Coronavirus in Mumbai. Later Indian Navy confirmed the report, 38 persobnel including sailors of the Indian Navy have tested positive for COVID19 at INS Angre, a shore-based logistics and admin support establishment under Western Naval command. The official statement came at 830 hours on Saturday. It is confirmed that Covid19 virus has hit shore-based INS Angre, Maharashtra, said government sources.

INS Angre 38 Indian sailors tested positive

It is added that the at INS Angre total 38 people got Coronavirus positive including sailors, who were residing in the residential accommodation facilities of INS Angre, kept in an isolation ward at a naval hospital in Mumbai. It is also stated that all protocols and measures are being by Indian Navy at the facility as Sailors are found Coronavirus positive, sources said. The number of infected people could increase, another source hinted. An official statement confirmed the virus at INS Angre.

In his statement, Vice Chief of Indian Navy on Saturday clarified about the number of COVID19 positive cases at INS Angre.At INS Angre in Mumbai a total of 38 COVID19 positive cases were found. Of these, 12 have already been discharged from hospital while 26 are undergoing treatment. There have been no positive case on any of our warships&submarines, added Indian Navy Vice Chief Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar.

As per reports 38 Indian Navy personnel at INS Angre test positive for coronavirus in Mumbai. Sailors are undergoing treatment Covid19 and were part of logistics establishment of Western Naval Command.

On the other hand already the Maharashtra state is a worst-hit state with a total number of positive cases rising to 3,205, followed by New Delhi at 1,640 cases, Tamil Nadu at 1,267 cases and Rajasthan at 1,131 cases. In India on Saturday cases increased 14,000 marks.

April 17- 838 Hours- All primary contacts (though asymptomatic) were tested for COVID19. The entire in-living block was immediately put under quarantine, containment zone & INS Angre under lockdown. Action being taken as per established protocol. No cases of infection onboard ships & submarines said Indian Navy.

April 17- 850 Hours- Indian Navy confirmed that 38 serving personnel tested positive for COVID19 within naval premises at Mumbai. This number includes 20 sailors of INS Angre, a shore establishment at Mumbai. Most of these are asymptomatic & have been traced to a single sailor who was tested positive on 7th April.

May 2- At INS Angre in Mumbai, we've had a total of 38 COVID19 positive cases. Of these, 12 have already been discharged from hospital while 26 are undergoing treatment. There have been no positive case on any of our warships&submarines, said Indian Navy Vice Chief Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar.
