Indian Army Day 2022: History & Significance 

The Indian Army was founded in 1895, although it did not have an Indian commander until the country gained independence from British occupation in 1947. General KM Cariappa became the Army's first Indian commander on January 15, 1949. General Francis Butcher, the final British leader of the national army, handed over the reins to him. At every Army Command Headquarters, the historic day is commemorated with patriotic fervor.

Due to the ongoing third wave of the COVID-19 epidemic, the day will be observed under stringent regulations this year.

Indian Army Day 2022: Celebration 

The Indian Army plays a crucial role during crises because it is determined to become a war-leading force. This day was designated as Indian Army Day in order to begin paying tribute to martyred Indian army men at the "Amar Jawan Jyoti" at India Gate in New Delhi.
