According to the sources, Indian Army Foiled another Galwan at Shenpao Mountain in Ladakh. In an astonishing development, on 07 September 2020. Following rules of engagement, Indian Troops warned Chinese troops to go back. However, Chinese who were seeking another Galwan, continued to move ahead. It was at this point, Indian Army troops fired warning shots at aggressive Chinese troops, Sources of Sunday Gaurdian said.

Incident of firing took place on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh sector where troops of India and China have been engaged in a stand-off for over three months. Chinese army trying to cover its blatant aggression by blaming the Indian Army for “firing warning shots on PLA border patrol soldiers who were about to negotiate” is completely baseless, Sunday Gaurdian says. However, official details from Indian side are still awaited.

In the same context alleging the Indian Army troops Chinese mouthpiece Global Times claimed that "Indian Army once again crossed LAC and clashed with Chinese troops on LAC in the Ladakh sector. Chinese border defense troops were forced to take countermeasures to stabilize the situation after the Indian troops outrageously fired warning shots to PLA border patrol soldiers who were about to negotiate", said the Chinese spokesperson.

Indian Army's statement on the provocation by Chinese PLA:

In the instant case on 07 September, it was China's PLA troops who were attempting to close-in with one of our forward positions along the LAC & when dissuaded by own troops, PLA troops fired a few rounds in the air in an attempt to intimidate own troops, says Indian Army.

While India is committed to disengagement & de-escalating situation on the LAC, China continues to undertake provocative activities to escalate. At no stage has the Indian Army transgressed across the LAC or resorted to use of any aggressive means, including firing, Indian Army issues statement. It is the PLA that has been blatantly violating agreements and carrying out aggressive manoeuvres, while engagement at military, diplomatic and political level is in progress.

Despite grave provocation, Indian troops exercised great restraint & behaved in a mature & responsible manner. We are committed to maintaining peace & tranquility, however are also determined to protect national integrity & sovereignty at all costs, statement reads.
