India-China Eastern Ladakh Update: Chinese troops tried to change the status on 29/30 Aug, IA thwarted Chinese intentions

PLA troops violated previous consensus arrived at during military and diplomatic engagements during the ongoing standoff in Eastern Ladakh and carried out provocative military movements to change the status quo, said Indian Army Sources on Monday. After the PLA's provocative activities Indian troops pre-empted that on the Southern Bank of Pangong Tso Lake and undertook measures to strengthen the IA positions and thwart Chinese intentions  to unilaterally change facts on ground, sources says to DD News.

In view of the latest PLA's movements, soures said that Indian troops pre-empted their activity on the Southern Bank of Pangong Tso Lake and thwarted the Chinese intentions on 29 & 30 August 2020, said Col Aman Anand, PRO, Indian Army. On Monday Indian Army's Brigade Commander level Flag Meeting is called at Chushul to resolve the issues, Army releases the statement.

August 31, 2020- 1.40 PM- So far, there has been no physical clash between Indian and Chinese troops near the southern bank of Pangong Tso in Eastern Ladakh: Indian Army Sources.

Indian Army is committed to maintaining peace and tranquility through dialogue, but is also equally determined to protect its territorial integrity. A Brigade Commander level Flag Meeting is in progress at Chushul to resolve the issues, colonel said.
