India-China Border Row: Chinese Foreign Ministry speaks-out on clash with Indian Army at Sikkim border

After the official statement from the Indian Army on 'minor-clash' at the Sikkim border on January 20, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that Chinese troops are committed to maintaining peace at the China-India border. In his statement Spokesperson asks the Indian side to refrain from unilateral action.

"Our border troops committed to maintaining peace in China-Indian border region. China urges India to meet China halfway & refrain from any unilateral actions that may exacerbate border situation, take practical actions to maintain peace in border areas", said the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson.

On January 20, Wednesday Troops of India and China got involved in a physical brawl along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) near the Naku La area in Sikkim. Soldiers from both sides got injuries, a report published in See Latest said.

The statement from the Chinese side comes hours after the Indian Army released a statement regarding India-China's recent clash at Naku La at the Sikkim border.

In its official statement, the Indian Army clarifying its stance said "It's clarified that there was a minor face-off between Indian Army & Chinese PLA troops at Naku La, Sikkim on 20th January. It was resolved by local commanders as per established protocols.
