IGNOU Degree Status 2021: Know All About Grade Card, Convocation & Degree/Certificate Distribution

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) awards degree/certificates to students who pass out from the varsity. After the declaration of the final result. The University starts Convocation registration for the students who recently passed out in Term-End Exams and have been awarded Assignment/Practical marks for all opted subjects. Through the convocation programme, the registered students get awarded degrees through online and offline (by post) mode.

After the declaration of Theory and Practical (Assignments/Projects/Research), marks of final year/ semester students declared qualified in the Degree/Certificate or Diploma course.

IGNOU Grade Card:

After the declaration of the result of Theory exams and uploading of Assignments/Practical/project marks, the students can check their grade card status using their Enrolment No. and Programme Code. It is updated from time to time as the Student Evaluation Division (SED) receives marks from Study centres. To check the grade card status a student should visit the official website of IGNOU or follow the direct link below.

IGNOU Convocation:

IGNOU conducts a Convocation programme every year. The programme is being held to disburse degree/certificates to the learners who pass out from the University. IGNOU has been conducting the Convocation programme in online or virtual mode for the last two years. The recent programme '34th Convocation program' was held on April 15, 2021. Whereas, last year the convocation was held on February 17, 2020.

Students can check their status of receiving Degree, Diploma, Certificate for 34th Convocation at direct link https://sedservices.ignou.ac.in/idms/. Registration for the convocation started on March 10, 2021, & still open for students. Students who participated in the virtual convocation programme this year were awarded degree/certificates by the Hon'ble Minister of Education, Dr. Ramesh Nishank Pokhriyal.

IGNOU Degree Award:

IGNOU dispatches degree/certificates to the students who pass out from the varsity by post. Students usually receive the degree within 100 days (being delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions) of their pass-out from the University. Students who register for Convocation, do not register or miss the registration deadline also receive a degree/certificate by post.

The degree award is being sent by Student Evaluation Division to the student's address mentioned in the Application form. For queries related to degree status for year 2020/ 2021 students may also contact their Regional or Study Centres.
