Google to invest 70,000 Crores in India, to help youth, farmers & enterprises: CEO Pichai

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google has announced that the Google will invest Rs 75,000 crore or about $10 billion in India over the next 5-7 years. Holding warm talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Indian born Google CEO assured Prime Minister that company is ready to invest a total 70,000 Crores in India to boost digital infrastructure. On Monday Prime Minister Modi speaks about the conversation with Sundar Pichai & tweets "This morning, had an extremely fruitful interaction with Sundar Pichai. We spoke on a wide range of subjects, particularly leveraging the power of technology to transform the lives of India’s farmers, youngsters and entrepreneurs".

After the decision, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Communications Electronics and Information Technology and Law and Justice says "Happy to learn that Google is making a huge investment in the Google India digitisation fund. India's moment has arrived in the digital space and I am glad that Google has recognised it".

The $ 10 billion investment will enable affordable access to everyone in their own language. it will target on the relevatant services to India's need. Business will show escalation in development as there will be digital transformation. Along with that Artifitial Technology will be introduced for betterment in health, education and agriculture.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Google CEO Sundar Pichai talked about the difficulties and the challenges that the nation has to face during the crisis of pandemic and how digital technology is needed to transit the lives of Indian farmers, youth and various enterprises. Indian Prime Minister was also apprised about Google's efforts in forecasting floods & other calamities across India. The conventional methods of India's traditional approaches to work, culture, learning, business systems have faced challenge in the due course of pandemic thus adoption of digital medium is urged.

PM Modi added that India is among the most open economies in the world and talked about technological solutions that can enhance the scope of online learning and progress in digital paymets.

Following the Prime Minister Modi's tweet, CEO Pichai says "Excited to announce Google for India Digitisation Fund. Through it, we'll invest Rs 75,000 Cr or approx US$10 Bn into India over next 5-7 yrs. We'll do this through mix of equity investments, partnerships & operational infrastructure in ecosystem investments".
