Drishyam 2 Review

Drishyam 2 came up with plenty of twists and turns to keep the audience to hooked till the climax. The story of Vijay Salgaonkar and his family will recount in the audience's memory. As per Drishyam 2 review, it can be framed as a gripping sequel with lots of drama and mind-blown twists.

Drishyam 2 Story

The Salgaonkars are still going through the trauma of what happened seven years ago. As the cops are employing new ways and planning & plotting to uncover the case, want Vijay Salgaonkars and his family to confess the buried truths behind all these hurdles. The story revolves around, Can Vijay save his family, and himself too from the cops again? How long can the truth remain buried?

Drishyam 2 Movie Review

The sequel of Drishyam 2015, is a remake of a Malayalam thriller with the same name that begins where the film has left off. Vijay Salgaonkar in & as Ajay Devgn emerges from the police station with a shovel in his hands. From then, we can see a perfect crime had a witness and that is what gives the cops a chance to revisit the Sameer Deshmukh case investigation.

On the other hand, we can see that Vijay, who used to run a cable operating business, now became a theatre owner with a dream to be a director someday. His elder daughter Anju Played by Ishita Dutta is still getting nightmares and is in traumatic shock from what has happened seven years before. The Younger daughter Anu is now a teenager and his wife Nandini is in & as Shriya Saran is moving on but with a fear that their minds can never leave.

Some unexpected chatters in the communities and some plot-turning events have made the lives of Salgaonkars upside down. Even the supporters of Vijay begin to dwindle as the plot gets unfolds and begin to raise the question of whether he committed the crime or not.

A new IG has been appointed in the town Police Tarun Ahlawat played by Akshaye Khanna to lead the unsolved missing case of Sameer Deshmukh, son of former IG Meera Deshmukh played by Tabu. This time the cops are following the leads without underestimating any clue.

Abhishek Pathak, the director has followed the same pattern as before one with slow narratives in the first half of the movie where he focused on the family’s anxiety, tensions, and traumas. As the investigation progresses, each and all casts serve a different purpose and heighten the suspense drama.

The last hour of the film has again gone to that extent where Vijay again tried to protect his family from going to jail while defending the crime, but this time with mind-blowing twists.

All the characters in the film played their roles well. This time Tabu is seen more engaged to play the character of a Mom in grief who wants nothing but justice for her son and played her role outstandingly. Kamlesh Sawant as Gaitonded again reprises his character as a ruthless person to dig out the truths for revenge.

Other Reviews

If considering Drishyam 2 movie review, the critics and netizens gave thumbs up as sure shot hit to this sequel. As per the reports of critics, pulling a story out of thin air and improvising it into a masterpiece drama is not always possible unless it has excellent content, terrific casts, crisp writing, and fabulous acting.

However, if you have seen Jeethu Joseph’s original story the suspense of the story has been weaved with multiple threads that actually make your mind blown leading to a spine-chilling climax and unpredictable twists and turns. If you have watched Mohan Lal’s Drishyam 2 then, do experience Devgn’s Drishyam 2 as a one-time watch and if you haven't watched the Original one, then prefer to watch that instead of this as the suspense framed by the original story is more novel and did justice to the content supporting the prequel.
