Darbar Box Office Collection Day 5: Rajinikanth's Darbar, directed by AR Murugadoss, is doing great at the box office. The film hit the screens on January 9 and had collected around Rs 30 crore in three days. Darbar earned Rs 7.28 crore in Chennai on Sunday, thus taking the total collection of the film beyond Rs 35-crore mark. Apart from Indian box office, the film is doing a steady business overseas. In two days, the film had collected nearly $1 million (Rs 7.09 crore) in the US. Besides, Darbar has reportedly earned around Rs 220 crore from its pre-release business including the sale of its worldwide theatrical rights and all non-theatrical ancillary revenue. The film released in over 7,000 screens worldwide, including 4,000 plus screen in India. The action-entertainer is a hit with the masses and has already crossed the 100 crore mark in India.

The Rajinikanth starrer grossed Rs. 30.80 crore (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi) on Thursday which was followed by an estimated box office collection of Rs. 15 crore on Friday. Darbar collected around Rs. 15.80 crore on Saturday and Rs. 15 crore on Sunday. It minted around Rs. 7 crore on Monday. The five-day box office collection in all languages is around Rs. 83.60 crore. The latest box office collection of Darbar in the US is $251,473. Darbar's UAE numbers suggest, it is being received well by the audience in the West Asian country. The film has earned Rs 6 crore in 3 days in UAE. In Australia, Darbar managed to earn Australian$ 407,716. It is among the biggest Tamil film released in Australia in the recent times. Rajinikanth continues and the film has grossed more than Rs 150 crore worldwide.Darbar is expected to break many box office records in the coming days. The film also stars Nayanthara, Suniel Shetty and Prateik Babbar, among others in pivotal roles.

In Australia Darbar has minted A$ 407,716, in UAE Rs 11 crore (5 Days), in UK 202,763 pounds (Rs 1.88 crore) and $476,546 in US. Darbar is facing stiff competition from Telugu film Sariler Neekevvaru starring Mahesh Babu.  However, Rajinikanth's Darbar, the first of Thalaivar's twin releases of 2020,  has raced ahead of Sariler Neekevvaru  in almost every country. Sariler Neekevvaru minted  A$ 279,251 (Rs 83 lakh) in UAE on its first Day,  55,234 pounds (Rs 51.23 lakh) in UK and $251,473  in US.

According to a trade expert, the Rajinikanth starrer has earned Rs 7.28 crore at the Chennai box office in its first weekend.
'Darbar' was made on an estimated budget of close to Rs 200 crore, hence for it to be a profitable venture the film must cross close to Rs 280 - 285 crore at the worldwide box office. Directed by directed by AR Murugadoss, ‘Darbar’ is expected to own a good number of screens during its second weekend too as Dhanush's 'Pattas' will hit the screens at that time.
