As Republic Day is nearing, the 9th round of corps commander level meeting between PLA and the Indian Army has begun in Moldo at 9:30 am on Sunday. The main objective of this meeting will be to defuse the hightened tensions along the LAC which have been going on since April 2020. A written agreement is also on the cards. So far 8 rounds of talks have taken place as of 8th November 2020 and no mutual agreement has been reached.

Members of the Foreign delegation on both sides are also expected to be in the meeting, although Chinese General Wei Fenghe and his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh already had a conversation on 4 September in Moscow, and still, no agreement had been achieved.

According to Army sources, even after the 8th November meeting, PLA has made illegal transgressions on the Indian side of the border in Arunachal Pradesh, reports of construction of villages have also come in. This shows neither verbal negotiations nor written agreements mean anything to China, hence they can never be trusted.

CAS  Air Chief Marshal  RK Singh Bhadauria also warned China of a befitting reply in case there is any misadventure conducted by PLAAF along the LAC, he stated that if China can get aggressive, so can we. PM Modi also sent a strong message to China on Prakram Diwas while addressing the nation in West Bengal. PM Modi warned of swift retaliation from the Indian Side on both LAC and LOC if provoked.

Apart from all the negotiations that have taken place between India and China, history has taught us one thing that China doesn't care about any agreements or any verbal discussions, CCP only listens to power, its no doubt that the balance of power is currently on the Chinese side, but the readers should be reminded that India is not a pushover and any aggressive maneuver by China will be met with an adequate response.

According to certain military ex-servicemen, China perhaps wants to shift India's focus towards LAC, so it can increase its presence in the Indian Ocean. Both China and Pakistan are looking forward to make a big move against India, hence the Indian Government has to be very careful regarding their next move.
