Later this month, the film 83 will be released concurrently on two OTT platforms. According to reports, Netflix has acquired the Hindi version, while Disney+ Hotstar will broadcast the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam versions.
83 will be released on Feb 18, 2022. The movie will simultaneously premiere on Disney+ Hotstar & Netflix.

When 83 was announced in 2017, Star India was reportedly in negotiations for the broadcast rights. At the time, the OTT wave had not yet reached India.The sale had been finalised, and Star Gold had obtained the satellite rights. However, over the latter two years of the pandemic, the audience consumption pattern has shifted to OTT.
