Sources close to the KGF team told that there is no truth in these rumors. 'We are still safe. The team was shooting the film before the lockout was announced and we have a few days left to shoot. Post-production work will start when the Karnataka government gives us permission,' he said. The source also said that they are on track for release on 23 October. Film shootings have stalled across the country due to the novel coronavirus epidemic.

In February 2020, the makers of KGF: Chapter 2 confirmed that the film would be released in five languages ​​across the country on 23 October. KGF: Chapter 2 will also feature Bollywood actors, Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles. The former Prime Minister will essay the role of Ramika Sen, while the latter will play the role of Adhira, the main rival.
