Indian Army plays a major role in protecting the local Kashmiri population from being attacked and radicalized by Pakistan-backed terror outfits.  At the same time, the Indian Army helps Kashmiris in their day-to-day activities under the name of 'KhairiyatPatrol'. Below mentioned are some of the fine examples as to how the Indian Army has helped Kashmiris to reach a state of normalcy.

In the thick of sub-zero temperature during Chillai Kalan, the Kashmiris had been cut off from the supplies due to heavy snowfall.  The soldiers from the Khairiyat Patrol of the IndianArmy provided huge relief for the locals by supplying essential items to the remote areas. In addition to this, The Khairiyat Patrol also provides medication for various villages near Aripanthan for fever, burns, skin disorders, cough and cold.

The basic checkup facilities including measuring blood pressure and first aid were made available by the patrol for the villagers. Moreover, regular awareness camps are also organized by the Indian Army to advise the villagers about cold injuries and precautions to avoid such injuries. The Khairiyat Patrol reached out to the people of Satri village to know about their well being and carried out a normal medical check-up of old age persons and the ones who required medical attention.

Indian Army reached every nook and corner of Kashmir, the KhairiyatPatrol also aided the locals of village Mangam. The villagers appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army for coming up with medical assistance to every villager amidst harsh and cold weather.

This shows that the Indian Army is constantly trying to make sure that Kashmiris enjoy a normal and safe lifestyle, however, attempts are being made from across the border to destabilize the valley. Indian Army has to be more careful as it has been reported that there are around 300 terrorists operating in Kashmir.
