IMD forcast now includes PoK, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad, India asks Pak to vacate

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has started calling its meteorological sub-division of Jammu and Kashmir as Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad. Muzzafarbad and Gilgit-Balistan are parts of Pakistan occupied Kashmir which are under illegal Pakistani occupation and from now IMD to forcast & telecast the weather report of entire Jammu & Kashmir. IMD Department has started issuing its weather reports for the entire Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh area including Muzzafarbad and Gilgit-Balistan, stated official report.

The IMD move came after Pakistan Supreme court allowed the general elections to take place in illegally occupied areas including Muzzafarbad and Gilgit-Balistan. On April 30, Pakistan's Supreme court had allowed the central government's application to carry elections in the areas. Ministry of External Affairs of India had strongly protested against the move.

'India demarched senior Pakistan diplomat and lodged a strong protest to Pakistan against Supreme Court of Pakistan order on the so-called ‘Gilgit-Baltistan’ was clearly conveyed that the entire Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, including the areas of Gilgit and Baltistan, are an integral part of India by virtue of its fully legal and irrevocable accession, it MEA said in a statement. India completely rejected the amendments made by the Pakistani government in the illegally occupied  Indian territories of Muzaffarabad and Gilgit-Balistan.

However, Pakistani government didn't consider India's charges against them. In a move to protest and portray the Pakistan's diplomacy , IMD has started giving weather reports for Gilgit-Balistan and Muzaffarabad too.

India told Islamabad to vacate the Indian Territories. New Delhi has always maintained that PoK is a part of India and the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly continues to reserve 24 seats for PoK constituencies. The seats have been retained even post-August 5 when the government revoked the special status of J&K by abrogating Article 370 and bifurcated the state into union territories of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir.
