World Environment Day: Amit Shah's message to the nation; Shah to hold a virtual rally in Bihar on 7th June

Aimed at raising awareness about the environment and the importance of conserving the earth, today we are celebrating World Environment Day. This year's theme is 'Celebrate Biodiversity' and since morning NGOs, Celebrities and politicians are expressing their concern about the environment and urging people to 'Save Environment'. 

This afternoon Home Minister of India Amit Shah took Twitter to share his views on World Environment Day. 

"From times immemorial, India has a rich tradition and deep knowledge about nature conservation. Different ways of worshipping and preserving the environment are intrinsic to our culture. On this #WorldEnvironmentDay, let us resolve to preserve our environment for a better tomorrow," wrote Shah on Twitter.



Shah is all set to hold a virtual rally ahead of Bihar Assembly Elections which are due in October 2020. Under the banner of 'Bihar Jan Samvad', Shah will virtually connect with the people of the Bihar on 7th June, Sunday. This virtual rally of the former President of BJP will stream across digital platforms and all across social media. Shah will also address Odisha through virtual rally on 8th June. 

In Bihar, BJP has tie-up with JD(U) and Shah has already hinted that BJP will continue its association with JD(U) in Bihar in forthcoming elections. Last year, the BJP- JD(U) association won 39 out of 40 seats in Bihar during the Lok Sabha elections 2019. 

Earlier this morning Prime Minister Narendra Modi also shared his thoughts. He also discussed issues related to the Environment in his 'Man Ki Baat' last month. 

The first World Environment Day was celebrated in 1974 with the theme 'Only One Earth' and this year's theme is 'Celebrate Biodiversity'. The United Nations held a conference back in 1972 and it was decided to hold an annual celebration with a dedicated day to raise awareness about the environment and the importance of conserving the earth. 

In its official tweet, The United Nation appealed to adopt sustainable habits, and safeguard remaining wild spaces & wildlife.
