Unlock 2.0- With a record-breaking rise in the number of COVID cases each day in the country, the central government is in a fix over the lockdown situation. The guidelines on the second phase of Unlock have been issued by MHA. Based on the MHA sources as per Unlock 2.0 guidelines, schools and colleges will not re-open before 31st July. Ramesh Pokhriyal, MHRD Minister, has already mentioned that schools and other educational institutions are likely to function from mid or late August.
With the cancellation and postponement of upcoming CBSE, ICSE, and all other major exams it is pretty clear that the situation is nowhere near fit to reopen educational institutions. Based on MHA's Unlock 2.0 guidelines now Schools won't be re-opening before 31/07.
On the travel front, some easing can be expected on the lockdown. International flights might run by the end of July since other countries are criticizing India’s ‘monopoly’. A few days ago, the USA has raised objections to India’s Vande Bharat Mission which allows Air India to fly to the US but denies American carriers of the same. UAE too has raised a similar point.

The Civil Aviation Minister, Hardeep Puri earlier stated that the decision regarding the resumption of international flights will hopefully be taken by June end. He also said that the decision will be taken only after taking all stakeholders in confidence.
Meanwhile, local lockdowns will be carried on as and when the need arises. This will come under the concerned state government’s jurisdiction who is free to lock up an infected area if it deems fit. Unlock 2.0 will also try to better the circumstances for the labor class. According to sources, it will focus on encouraging small businesses and industries and promoting local employment.
